ICC WORLD CUP TOURNAMENT MATCH 14:
INDIA VS AUSTRALIA post match outlook
India vs Australia is one of the most loved rivals and fans
comes in huge number to witness their rivalry. And today's match was the most
awaited contest. Both teams were playing for their pride. But today India stood
favourite as they played beautifully and gave 100% in all the three
departments. With this India secured 2nd position on the point table
and baggage 4 points where as it was first defeat for Australia after 2
consecutive win.
So this is how this rivalry started today
India after winning the toss elected to bat first and left
Australia to bowl First. Australia accepted the challenge with pride. India
opened their inning with their most successful openers Rohit sharma and Shikhar
Dhawan. The key for India was to hang In there without losing wicket. And that
is exactly what both the openers did. They backed themselves against the spell
of most destructive bowler Mitchell starc and pat cummins. Although they were
very slow in the beginning scoring around 2 to 3 run per over, They were so
confident about what they were doing. And once they were done with starc and
cummins they started taking on counter-nile, zampa and stoinis to maximize the
run rate. Rohit and dhawan played beautifully but rohit had to depart playing a
bad shot but it only made the way for world’s best batsman virat kholi. And he
didn’t disappoint his fans.
He went on to score 82( A true captain’s knock).
Meanwhile Dhawan went on to score an outstanding century.
Truly said that Dhawan never fails to score in ICC main
events and he again proved it today. He
played bravely even after suffering from thumb injury. After his departure it
was all Hardik And kholi show. Hardik missed on fastest fifty in this worldcup
so far. But then Ms dhoni stated his stardom of best hitter by scoring 27 from 14 delivery after that KL
Rahul also proved his selection by scoring 11 from just 3 deliveries.
And at the end India finished with 352-5(50.0).
Indian batsmen did their job to perfection and proved that
they are the real contender for this worldcup trophy. After that it was India’s
bowler to show their consistency.

After
India’s inning Australia was in great pressure as 352 is an humongous score to
chase that too in an worldcup event. But Australia batsmen never gave up
throughout the chase. Starting with finch and warner, Australia ensure not to
lose wicket in early overs. So they played with slower runrate but not for too
long as finch started taking on Hardik pandya hitting 19 run in a single over
but he didn’t last long as he was run out by a brilliant display of fielding by
kedar jadhav. After finch steve smith came and started playing his natural
game(on merit of the ball) from the very first ball. But then warner got out to
Chahal bringing in Usman Khawaja who played nicely for a while and kept the
board ticking but the he too departed making way for Maxwell. Maxwell started
showing his game from the very first ball by hitting a beautiful straight drive
to bumarah. He really silenced the Indian Fans with his destructive batting for
a while but from another end Smith and stoinis was taken out by bhuwaneshwor in
the same over after that the burden fell over Maxwell shoulder alone but he
also throws his wicket to chahal playing under pressure.
Now it was duty
of carey and counter-nile to take
Australia over the line and although carey played beautifully to take care of
the business he never received support from the another end resulting Australia
All-Out with Carey scoring fastest fifty in this tournament so far.
