 IPL 2022 will get more exiting with the inclusion of two new team whose auction took place few days before where RP Sanjiv Goenka Group(RPSG) and CVC Captial partners( Irelia Company Pte LTD won the bid to acquire Lucknow and Ahmedabad teams respectively.

Player retention rule for old IPL team

    - Maximum number of player to be retained: 4

Among those for the combination of players can be

    - 3 Indians and 1 Overseas player or

    - 2 Indians and 2 Overseas players


Also there will be no Right-To-Match Card(RTM) in this mega auction as before.

Team auction purse is likely to be 90 crore, In previous auction it was 85 crore. 

Old teams likely to submit their retention list of players by end of November.


Rules for Player Selection for the 2 new teams

    Both team can select 3 players of  before the mega Auction and with the mutual decision of both teams, BCCI and players those selected players will not go to mega Auction.

however there is no clarity on how those players will be selected among these two teams and what will happen when both teams are willing to select a same player. will there be a separate auction for that too. A lot is unclear and only can be clarified when BCCI updates.
